Pediatric Rehabilitation & Neonatal Intensive CareBack
PVHMC and the Department of Rehabilitation have had a longstanding commitment to care for the child with special medical needs. Our specially trained Pediatric Therapists are involved in the child’s care from the first days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) … to Inpatient Pediatrics … to Follow-Up Clinic … to Outpatient Rehabilitation. This includes California Children’s Services (CCS) trained Physical Therapists performing comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning. Our team approach integrates treatment between all involved hospital services. Parent education and participation in all phases of the care is strongly encouraged. Treatments address feeding and swallowing impairments, coordination and balance training and delayed motor development.
