Psychosocial Oncology Counseling Services

Individual
and family counseling is offered at The Robert and Beverly Lewis Family
Cancer Care Center to all cancer patients and their families. Licensed
therapists specially trained in the counseling of cancer patients provide
unique and effective therapy and support. This service integrates and
coordinates with medical and radiation oncology treatment.
Our Goal:
To help cope with the emotions and feelings about being diagnosed
and treated for cancer.
How Our Program
is Different:
Psycho-oncology counseling specializes in the unique concerns of the cancer
patient. Combining both family therapy and oncology issues, the therapist
addresses the patient's decisions and emotions. Waiting for test results,
confirming a diagnosis, coping with shock, denial, fears, dread of recurrence,
anxiety, and many other issues specific to the cancer patient and their
family are discussed.
Appointments:
Appointments for this service can be scheduled at the Cancer Care Center
by calling (909) 865-9555. Same day and special times may be arranged.
In order to make this service available, a minimal fee will be charged,
however, grant funding is available and may be negotiated.
